The Meeting Place It Can Be All the Time

We tap with abandon

On the oldest cemetery in the world,

Because we don't know it is a cemetery.

We think it is a dance hall.

It is, however, a meadow;

A meadow which can be a dance hall,

And a cemetery (the oldest one)

Or anything else at all.

It can be a meeting-place,

A skating-rink,

A city,

A picnic ground.

The possibilities of the oldest cemetery in the world

Are not to be limited.

The dead

Are not to be limited.

They can spring any time at all;

They have sprung any time at all;

And have enjoyed themselves in the picnic ground

Their cemetery came to be;

Or have been ardent in the meeting-place

Their cemetery came to be;

And can be all the time.
