    The Big Bell

In the night, those who are lonely know
    The big bell will ring,
The big bell will not forsake them.
It is heavy, it is made of iron,
It has a deep, sweet voice,
    Warning the foolish,
    Admonishing the insincere,
    Insisting to the lonely:
They should not forget the hours.
The big bell hangs in a red belfry.
It is heavy, it is made of iron,
It has a deep, sweet voice.
    It is a real bell.
